Snakes are reptiles belonging to the suborder Serpentes. They are found in most parts of the world, but like cold-blooded animals in general, snakes are especially common in warm climates like that of Georgia.
Humane snake removal and control is one of our most in-demand late summer services. Like all cold-blooded animals, snakes become more active as the temperature increases; so we get a lot of hits on our site for the search term "snake exterminators in Georgia" during the warmer months.
But most Georgia snakes are harmless and beneficial, so discretion is necessary when performing snake control.
Snakes of Georgia
There are approximately 40 species of snakes found in Georgia. But only six of these species are venomous (or "poisonous") snakes:
•the Copperhead
•the Canebrake (or Timber) Rattlesnake
•the Eastern Diamondback Rattlesnake
•the Pygmy Rattlesnake
•the Water Moccasin ("Cottonmouth"), and
•the Eastern Coral Snake
Most Georgia snakes are not venomous. But because many snakes have similar coloration, non-professionals often have a hard time telling them apart. For this reason -- and because of the obvious risks associated with handling snakes -- untrained people shouldn't attempt to trap or remove snakes themselves. Call us instead. We know how to tell dangerous snakes from harmless ones, and we have the know-how to safely remove anykind of snakes from your property.
When is Snake Control Necessary? Snake removal job in Atlanta, Georgia. Snake control is a skilled profession requiring specialized training. Kids, don't try this at home! With non-venomous snakes, that depends on your feelings about snakes. Most Georgia snakes feed on rats, mice, and other rodents that transmit disease and cause agricultural damage, so many people don't mind sharing their gardens with a few non-venomous snakes in return for their help keeping the rodent populations down. So unless snakes really creep you out, there's no need to disturb non-venomous snakes that are doing no harm.
Some people are deathly afraid of snakes, however, and want them gone, no matter whether they're venomous or not. And of course, most people don't want snakes slithering around in their basements, living rooms, or bedrooms, or in sensitive outdoor areas like children's sandboxes and play areas.
No worries. If you have venomous snakes in your basement or elsewhere in your home or property, we can remove them. And if having even a few non-poisonous snakes in your garden creeps you out, we can safely and humanely remove them and release them far from your home, where they won't bother you again. The snakes may be a bit insulted, but they'll get over it.
Venomous Snake Control in Georgia
Venomous snakes, of course, must be removed when they get too close to human-occupied buildings, farms, or recreation areas. The bites of venomous snakes can be fatal to humans, domestic animals, and livestock; so trapping venomous snakes is a job for professionals.

SNAKE INSPECTION / HAND CATCHING SNAKES
We treat all of these calls as an EMERGENCY CALL- 24/7. We find it easier to charge a FLAT RATE FEE to come to your property and hand catch and remove SNAKES. Our Licensed Wildlife Technicians will spend up to an hour searching for & removing any snakes they find. It does not matter if the snakes are venomous or non-venomous. We are fully licensed & heavily insured.
This is the only critter that we deal with that could, if venomous, kill us. So we take it very serious.
As a
value added service to the snake inspection the Licensed Widllife Technician will provide you with habitat modification suggestions which will help direct you to make your yard less desirable, less hospitabile to snakes and cut down on the occurances of snake sightings or interactions.
We are tremendously successful when it comes to removing snakes and often times we find and remove more snakes than expected. But since wildlife is unpredictable - if we come out (no matter the time of day or night) whether or not we find the snake... we get paid for the effort.
SNAKE TRAPPING SERVICES
We charge a FLAT RATE TRAPPING FEE for One (1) week of snake trapping. There is NO set up fee, NO per animal fee, NO need for an estimate or quote. The trapping fee is all inclusive: Five (5) trips out every single day (Monday through Friday) to set the traps, check the traps and to remove any snakes trapped. It is the law in the State of Georgia that the traps are checked every single day – No exceptions. Daily trap checking is important for many reasons: 1) It's the law, 2) Humane to the snakes but equally important 3) It enables us to make the most out of your trapping dollars by our Professional Wildlife Technicians having the opportunity to reposition any traps that are not productive and rebaiting if necessary.
WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN YOU HIRE A PROFESSIONAL:
- We have to inspect the property to determine the best trap to use and location of trap.
- We use many different types of traps that are effective and humane.
- The Wildlife Technician will inform you upon arrival if "hand removal" or "trapping services" will be more effective for your specific situation.
- We release all snakes when & where permissible by law. While taking into consideration both food supply and water source.
